Knight Scene is our competitive, advanced mixed show choir ensemble. As a member, students learn the importance of teamwork, discipline, stage presence and showmanship, vocal technique, musicianship, practice and detail work, leadership, and much more. Curriculum also includes the fundamentals of choral music including sight-singing, music theory, correct vocal tone production, and ensemble technique.

 

As well as in-class rehearsals, this ensemble has a demanding rehearsal schedule outside of class. Rehearsals begin in August with Choreography Camp, followed by more choreography sessions in September and October, and cleaning sessions all the way until premiere. From January to April, it's all about competition season!

With the amount of time students spend together, as well as with planned bonding sessions and trust exercises, a close bond is usually established. Through a good balance between hard work and fun, the environment of this choir strives to make all students feel welcome, appreciated, and leave all choir activities feeling pride in their accomplishments.

A vocal and dance audition is required for this choir. Treble students must participate in Knightingales for one school year to be eligible to audition for Knight Scene the following year. Auditions take place in the Spring. A mandatory parent/student meeting is held in May to give information for the next year (e.g. the Chorus Calendar, financial information and payment schedule, trip information – if applicable for that year, etc.).
